| In 1996, Bill Ehlert,
the owner of Arrowhead, received a call from the Army Corp of Engineers
asking him if he could install Fisher Plows on Humvees. Bill informed them
that Fisher does not manufacture a plow for that vehicle, but he could
design the push plates for them. He also had to change the electrical wiring
to a 24 volt system. After three years of field testing, which included over
800 plowing miles without incident, the plow was approved by the Humvee
manufacturer, A.M. General. Since then,
Arrowhead has sold over 150 Fisher plows to the U.S. Government, and has
traveled all over the world to train mechanics to install the plows. On one
of the his first trips overseas, Bill had to train with an Albanian and
overcome a language barrier.
Now, Fisher Plows are at Army Bases all over the
world, including South Korea, Bosnia, Kosovo and Germany. Arrowhead has
recently shipped a Fisher Plow to Afghanistan, to assist in the war effort.
